Long Weekend Road Jams

I don’t know about you, but when I think of a long weekend I’m hardpressed to find a bad memory. Somehow that extra day tacked on to the usually busy Saturday and Sunday always calls for celebration. Whether it be in a different city, taking on the sights and sounds of unfamiliar surroundings or putting your feet up on a dock by the water, long weekends are an invitation to shake off the ordinary routine and blow off some steam.

For anyone who’s heading out on a long weekend trip, you know that your adventure begins in one place… the car. Some of my favourite memories include me and my friends piling into a car, rolling down the windows, turning up the volume on the radio/CD/iPod, singing at the top of our lungs and embracing the open road ahead. And so, with the help of my fellow nuts, I have compiled a list of road jams that will be sure to make your road trip that much more enjoyable. There’s a WIDE variety of music on here, so there’s definitely something for everyone. Enjoy!

Oldies, but Goodies:
1. Summer of 69 – Bryan Adams
2. Don’t Stop Believing – Journey
3. Footloose – Kenny Loggins
4. Night Moves – Bob Seger
5. Dock of the Bay – Otis Redding

6. Under the Bridge – Red Hot Chili Peppers
7. Bobcaygeon – The Tragically Hip
8. Crawl – The Black Keys

9. Starships – Nicki Minage
10. Dirty Pop – ‘Nsync

14. Hello – Martin Solveig & Dragonette

15. Friends in Low Places – Garth Brooks

19. Paris – Jay Z & Kanye West
20. Gin & Juice – Snoop Dogg

So nuts, I’ll leave you with the words of the ‘wise’ R. Kelly… “It’s the freakin weekend, baby I’m about to have me some fun!” Happy Long Weekend!
