Peach. Desert Rose. Stony Creme. Plum Seduction.Summertime.Peachy Keen. Lavender Field.
These are the names that make up ( or at least, used to make up) my collection of nail polish. All warm and dewy hues, I just didn’t feel quite right painting my nails with Ripe Apricot whilst listening to Ingrid Michaelson’s, “Winter Song“. So last night I scoured Shopper’s Drugmart for a few new additions to winterize my nail polish collection, and get me and my nails in the Christmas spirit. I haven’t quite decided which colour is my favourite, but this is what they look like, on and off my nails…
From Left to Right: Midnight Affair by Revlon, Khloe had a little lam-lam from Kardashian line Nicole by O-P-I, Queen Bling from by ORLY, Haute Chocolate by Sally Hansen Complete Salon Manicure.
Midnight affair is a sparkly navy colour and is perfect for night out or in. It adds a simple little shine to a darker colour.
O-P-I’s “Khloe had a little lam lam” (could these colour names get ANY more ridiculous?) is a pretty evergreen and is certainly a colour I will consider for any day or night, but particularly those few days off over the holidays.
I like “Haute Chocolate” because of its rustic tones – much more appropriate for day time wear.
Another nail trend that seems to be hot on runways and celebrities alike is any muted, pastel colour. Try out Chantilly- by Essie modeled by one of the nuts (Catherine) below.
