Unlike the annual date of resolutions where people world-wide take on January through starting a new diet, work out routine or attempt to leave nail-biting in the year gone by, I personally like to take each month as an opportunity to do something a little bit better. Often my monthly resolutions are small and short-term, like staying on top of chores, visiting old friends or simply taking me time out of a very busy schedule. But at the beginning of August, I decided that a lifestyle change needed to take place.
I’ve always been a little bit of a chicken when it comes to . . . well, anything. I’m the girl that screams at the brush of seaweed on her leg (this will never change due to my unfathomable fear of sharks). However, aside from the mysteries of the ocean floor, I’ve never really taken the time or the interest in getting my adrenaline pumping. So this past month, I decided to take life by the horns and be the first to jump in. A large portion of my inspiration came from the two jet-setters that we have recently said goodbye to on the ‘shell. And the other slice of inspiration has come from the ones who have stayed behind with me, but who are never afraid to take a chance, whether it is by taking a leap of faith (literally or figuratively), asking a boss for a raise or going the distance for the job of your dreams. Below are a few images that will hopefully inspire you to do whatever it is you need to do on this Monday morning, without dipping one toe in first. After all, life is either a daring adventure or nothing.
